From Our Home to Your Table
In our kitchen we let ourselves be carried away by the memories of our homes where, at mealtimes, those intense smells of stews, fried fish, croquette dough, seafood stews or even torrijas for afternoon snacks would emanate. That’s all there is to it, tradition and the recipes of our lives.
Our History
Essence of the South in the Heart of Barcelona
La Chana opened its doors in 2014, with the vision of bringing a little piece of Sanlúcar de Barrameda to the vibrant heart of Poble Sec.
From day one, we set out to rescue those authentic flavours that evoke our roots and bring them to all those who visit us.
This project began as a shared dream, and today it has become our ‘treasure cave’, a space where every dish and every wine tells a story that deeply moves us.
It all started in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), our inexhaustible source of inspiration. Each family visit leaves us a legacy of ideas, memories and flavours that we proudly bring to our menu
Walking through its streets, exploring its taverns and cellars, we find that unique essence that we seek to recreate in every corner of La Chana.
We want every customer to feel that connection, from the aromas to the last mouthful, reflecting the best of our tradition in every dish and every wine.
Here, Sanlúcar lives and breathes, for you and for all those who are looking for an authentic experience in Barcelona.
Our offer is mainly seafood, where fried and salted fish and fish stews play a major role, although we do not overlook a good Iberian meat or the very appetising winter dishes such as chickpeas with tagarninas and, of course, its “pringá” (a kind of stew).

We, as a combo, not only share life. We are the visible face of our project which, since 2014, was born with the spirit of being a close and familiar business.
Natalia closer to the cookers and Alex at the front of our bar, together and mixed, we always try to look for the best in a task that we enjoy as much as it makes us, supported at all times by a great professional and human team that is already part of our house.
